Drama Review: Surplus Princess Episode 4
The mission now is job hunting as our princess learns to live as a human, but will she succeed at finding a job to get her one true love?
I really enjoyed this episode because now Ha Ni seeing how hard it is to live as a human. She sees how hard Ahn Ma Nyeo works to provide for his daughter and saw just how hard people studied just to get an interview with top companies. Lucky for her, Mr Former Mermaid has connections errwhere.
So what happens when a mermaid who tries to become human touches water? Well she turns back into a mermaid, well partially since she can't breathe underwater and only her tail comes back. What makes it worse is that she's found out..by Hye Young of all people although I was shocked by how calm she was about the entire situation. I thought we were going to get a scene of Ha Nu trying to keep her mouth shut, but Hye Young agreed to keep it secret especially after being nearly choked to death by Ma Nyeo. Now that Hye Young knows the secret, Ha Ni can breathe a little and at least gets to vent to someone about her struggles, we all know Ma Nyeo is getting tired of hearing her complaints.
Anyone else feel really sorry for Ji Yong? Poor guy's heart was broken and no one even realizes why he's been acting that way. I think he'll be that one person who will be an advocate of our OTP and be a great involvement in getting them together. He may have feelings for Ha Ni, but he's also her friend and I know he'll put that first.
I am not sure what Hyun Myung's motivation for wanting to work for JH Foods, but I am hoping it isn't to possibly get Jin Ah back, she's a lost cause and shows she never took his feelings into account. I am very sorry to say this [not] but she was a real bitch in episode 4. Even if her former housemates weren't exactly qualified to work at JH, her attitude was completely uncalled for and she insulted everyone, especially Ha Ni and Hyun Myung, for no reason at all. I am actually very excited to see Hye Young put her in her place in episode 5. I knew her crocodile tears at the end of episode 3 were fake, seeing her act this way doesn't make me feel one ounce sorry for her. It seems getting that job has given her an ego the size of Canada. Soon, she'll see that what she's striving to get won't exactly be what she thought it was. I can't wait for that moment *insert evil laugh*.
Jin Ah aside, I think we got a little more of Shin Kyung than anyone thought and when I say that I mean his red underwear that resembles an apple to more confirm Ha Ni's fantasies about his apple bottom. Seriously, girl has got it bad and I wonder when she'll snap out of it and see he's not what she was really needs? Perhaps something will cause her and Hyun Myung to spend more time together and she'll begin to fall for him or vice versa. They have some great chemistry and he already seems like the protective type no matter how much she may annoy him. From him making sure she doesn't get taken advantage of while drunk or leading her away because she was being insulted by those rich snobs (who really didn't have jobs either so wtf was their attitudes about?), Hyun Myung seems to be the person she will be able to lean on.
*This has been a very busy weekend, so very sorry for this being late.
