T-Drama Review: When I See You Again Episode 8

AND THE TRUTH SHALL SET YOU FREE!! Or at least give us way more insight into why An Xi flipped. THANK YOU DRAMA GODS!

Well like the intro stated, episode 8 finally gave us insight into what An Xi's fight with her father was really about and I was also right about everything tying in together. According to An Xi, she always sent presents to her mother (wherever she was) and got a package returning them to her showing her mom wasn't where she thought she was. She showed her dad and we see that in order to protect An Xi and to keep the memory of her mother a pleasant one, he lied and claimed she left to become a volunteer. An Xi became distraught and lashed out, we then see she saw You Qian outside which is when the drama started and now we have the full story about what led up to that moment. She was angry with her father for lying about the whereabouts of her mom, but from his perspective he couldn't just outright say she left them without any actual explanation. I can see it from both sides, I can completely understand why An Xi got angry. She thought her mom left them for a good cause when in fact it wasn't very noble at all. On the other hand, I can see why her dad would say it. His wife leaves him with a newborn baby and as she grows, she wonders where her mother is. He didn't say she died (that would be horrible) so he made something up so she won't feel so sad since other kids had both parents. All he was trying to do was protect his daughter, but he didn't realize she was sending presents to someone who doesn't want to be found.
The plot is now moving so, I'm guessing, all of our leads will be staying in Pu Lang Village making An Xi even more confused. Yan Ze was told to keep an eye on You Qian, but of course he figures this out the minute he sees his colleague. Anyone who is paying attention can tell that Yan Ze will have his own agenda aside from what his boss gave him, he seems to enjoy making You Qian jealous. Now whether this will turn into him actually having feelings for An Xi, we don't know, but I am hoping it doesn't. I really want him to be that person who brings our leads closer to together rather than trying to keep them apart because we know that's what Yong Qing's role will be. I want Yan Ze to end up with Ya En, who already harbors a nice little crush on him so it should be easy. *prays to drama gods my preassigned ships actually happen*
The only way for An Xi to even get close to You Qian is if she lets her guilt go and learns that people leaving isn't her fault. She's scared to truly love someone in fear of them walking out on her, so You Qian will have to prove he'll never do that and she's going to have to let go of the past, it has a strong hold on her and she'll never move on if she lets it hold her back.
