T-Drama Review: When I See You Again Episode 7
We have finally gotten the other side of that inevitable day that caused the misunderstanding of the century. Has it been cleared? No, but we [the audience] have found that very crucial missing piece that puts both of their perspectives together.
Obviously, this has to be discussed first since I am so happy we got her side. Granted, we still don't what An Xi's fight with her dad was about, but it's great that we know why she snapped. It's also good to know that she's fully aware of what her outburst did and she's been wanting to see him all this time. Of course when she was telling Ya Lu this, You Qian got there too late and wasn't able to conveniently eavesdrop like he usually does so now it would be up to her to tell him (or someone else, I'm not objected to this). I guess the silver lining in all of this is that he's let go of his anger and wants to start over.
What is funny is that You Qian is so inexperienced in the love department that he has to get help from Yan Ze, who tsks at everything he's done thus far including telling An Xi he was pursuing her before he declared he was leaving. He's so determined to win her heart that he turns down a case that he's been working on for a while now and everyone is understandably shocked that he refused it. He's Ocean's best asset and it alarms the CEO so much that she's determined he's rebelling. Even with Yong Qing and Yan Ze saying otherwise, she's still unconvinced and sends the elder sibling to look after him while he's in Pu Lang Village. His CEO has struck me as very controlling because why would it matter if he's turned down an assignment? He's done so well up until now, it seems she's groomed him so well that she needs him to stay under her control. Something tells me things won't go so well in the future if he decides to stay in his hometown with An Xi, she seems to be petty like that.
What I do love about this drama is the supporting cast, especially Mei Wen and Zha Lin, who are both support systems for our heroine even when she's a bit slower than most. I really did enjoy when Me Wen asked 3 different people if You Qian was pursuing An Xi and each one said yes, her nativity in relationships showed when she was denying anyone who claimed it was true. I am enjoying how they all seem to be developing and have their own personalities, they're not just there for background or plot purposes. The writer did very well with giving them a presence in which you don't wonder why they even included them in the script. Personally, I am very curious about how Ya En's story will go, I'm going to be really bitter when she doesn't end up with Yan Ze because I have already started shipping them. Yes, I have and I have no shame in admitting it.
I'm not sure how fast our couple will progress in the next episode, but hopefully it'll be further than where they are now.
