Episode 9

Chae Won is locked inside the basement and is screaming for help, but it triggers her memory and now she no longer has amnesia. She says everything is clear now and she will never forgive them for what they've done. Young Ja is in her room going through Chae Won's suitcase and finds articles about Chul Gyu's infidelity.

She realizes that Chae Won had been preparing for the divorce for some time by the amount of evidence collected. She puts it away when she hears her son calling her. He asks where Chae Won in and she says she doesn't know. He thinks she's done something to her and blames it all on his ancestors. She says if something happens to her is it always her fault(Judging by your past actions then I'd say yes), but she hasn't seen her all day.  He worries that she's outside or something and goes out calling for her. She comments that maybe she ate seaweed soup after she had him. He's out in the living room and entryway calling her when JuRi comes downstairs. She's upset with him for being so loud, he asks if she's seen her sister-in-law, but she says no. He's worried and JuRi remarks that she isn't a kid so maybe she went out for a walk, so just call her. He calls her dumb and says that she never took her phone with her. He pulls out his phone and calls.....Hyo Dong. Immediately he thinks something is wrong for him calling at that time, he lies and says that Chae Won is sleep. He warns that if Chae Won is treated badly there then he'll forcefully file for divorce even if it's against her wishes. Chul Gyu tells him not to worry too much and that he'll protect her. 

  Meanwhile, Hyo Dong is thinking about his day with Choon Hee. He invited her to lunch with him and took her to a nice restaurant. She tries to back out once she realizes how much it is, but he insists on having his first meal with her in a nice place. He's cutting the steak for her, but is having a hard time with it. He finally cuts it and hands it to her. She's amused by his efforts of being romantic. She then takes a piece and feeds it to him, he's hesitant at but  eats it. As they're walking out, her heel breaks and she hurts her ankle. He carries her on his back when she says she can't walk. Back to the present and it seems as if Choon Hee is thinking about that day as well. 

    Se Yoon is at home and thinks about his last encounter with Chae Won. He asks himself if something went wrong again and why does he feel so anxious. His phone rings and it's Chul Gyu and he asks what happened now. Chul Gyu asks if he's with Chae Won, Se Yoon tells him why would he be with her at this hour. So he takes that answer as a no, then Se Yoon is wondering what went wrong now. He asks if she's been kicked out again, Chul Gyu is about to yell then asks how he knew about that. He tells him that he was dropping of one of his juniors and accidentally saw her. Obviously Chul Gyu doesn't like how he keeps running into her and tells him that he warned him the last time to stay out of his marital affairs. Se Yoon reminds him that he called him first. He tells him that he's been warned to stay out. Se Yoon worries that she may be out in the cold and gets up to go look then catches himself. (Chul Gyu is funny. He calls Se Yoon to see where she is, then gets mad when Se Yoon knows about her being kicked out then says to stay out of his marital affairs. Dude, then why call him with that question? You just involved him whether you like it or not).

       Chae Won is still in the basement, freezing her butt off and continues to call for help. Chul Gyu comes home to ask the housekeeper if she's heard anything, she says no. He's going crazy because he can't seem to find her. The ahjumma looks around and lowers her tone to talk to him. She starts off by saying that he didn't hear it from her, but when his mother went looking for the suitcasem Chae Won must have been locked in there. He yells saying why was she just now telling him this. He runs down with the keys to unlock the door which he manages to do. She collapses in his arms.

Chul Gyu rushes to his mother's room to yell at her. Asking how can she do this, Young Ja has no idea what he's talking about. He yells at her for locking her in the basement. She's still confused as he's saying that he really wants to move abroad now since he can't trust her with Chae Won. She gets up to see what he's talking about. Chae Won is laying down when Chul Gyu comes in followed by his mother. She tells her to say it with her own mouth that she locked her in the basement. When she doesn't answer, she's asked again. Chae Won says that she doesn't think she'd do it on purpose. Young Ja is still confused and tells her to say whether or not she locked her in the basement. Chul Gyu tells his mother how can she say that it was her in front of her. Young Ja is still maintaining her innocence and tells Chae Won to tell the truth since she knows she's trying to pull her and her son apart. Chul Gyu yells asking his mom when will she push it too far, when will she be satisfied. She's appalled at his comments. He tells her that he's tired and disappointed in her. Chae Won comes to her defense asking how could he speak to her like that. She says that she's fine so stop and calm down. He says that's the kind of person she is, no matter how much she's tortured she just listens. She's to naive. Young Ja has nothing to say and is in shock. Chae Won starts coughing so he goes to get her some medicine. When he leaves, Young Ja wonders what kind of attitude is this and is she trying to split her and her son up(Somehow that statement just sounds wrong lol). Chae Won says that she never told him she locked her in the basement(Technically, she's right. Chul Gyu is the only one saying that only because of what the housekeeper partially said. Chae Won never said she did it). She has no comeback for that. 

Young Ja says that she must have followed her into the basement for her bag, but there was nothing important in there. She even offers to bring it to her, but Chae Won says she doesn't need it. She says it's not needed since everything important is already in her head. Young Ja asks if her memories are back, but is given no actual answer. Chae Won simply stares around and looks lost like she's been looking since she lost her memory. Now Young Ja looks scared and goes back to her room wondering what she meant by that. Are her memories back or what? Se Yoon arrives at their home and gets out of the car. He sees that the lights are all out so they must be sleep. He laughs at himself wondering what he's doing there at this time of the night.(Because you LIKE her :p) He drives away. Chae Won walks downstairs and sees their family portrait. She looks around vows to get revenge and to never forgive them.

     The next day in the Uhm household, Kkeut Soon is wondering why her husband has never told her about that money. He tells her she's too noisy and to just eat. She continues by saying for someone with so much money, why did he bother his kids for so much money. She accuses him of being coy. She also wants to know how much she's getting since she would like to spend it all before she died. He tells her to keep her mouth shut then directs his attention on Hyo Dong who looks suspicious and asks him why he's so quiet. Hyo Dong says that he doesn't believe it at all, but Kkeut Soon reminds him that he saw the real estate papers with his own eyes. They just watch PyongDal eat in silence. 

    Ki Choon and KangSook are cooking rib eye and are looking more affectionate than usual...considering they are divorced. She even feeds him and asks how it tastes, he likes it. Then he gets curious as to why she's acting like this now when they find out he might inherit the money. She says that she's always wanted to act like this, she was waiting for him to face reality since she was so busy making a living. She grabs his hand and says to get rid of any harsh feelings he may have had for her. She cutely calls him 'Hubby' and he remarks that money really is good. He says that it feels like he's married to another woman now and he doesn't know if he can adjust to it. They're so busy acting lovingly, they don't notice the meat burning until Bo Reum says so. She tells him that if he inherits the money to not change his mind. Even if they do divorce, 

they're in the same boat. He says yes depending on how she acts, but says he's joking and he will give her half. She starts thinking about how quickly the restaurant will sell and maybe at some point they can move into a relative's house. Kang Sook reminds Bo Reum to call his grandfather and give him a morning message. Bo Reum gets up and bows. He says that as the grandson who will take over the factory, he's calling to see how he's doing. At the same time, Do Hee is also on the phone trying to call her father-in-law. She wonders why he's been on the phone all morning. KI Moon comes in getting ready to leave for work. Do Hee says that being humiliated in momentary, but $10 million is eternal(I don't even want to comment on this logic). He asks her is he suppose to quit and make noodles, she jokes and says why would an Executive Director bake noodles. She mentions that she told Sol Hong to stop studying and come home, Ki Moon isn't thrilled about this.  Ki Ok tapes a sign outside of her door that mentions her being an heiress to 10 million, she gets excited when she thinks about the possibility of her having more suitors. 

        At the Kim household, everyone sits down for breakfast to see they're having seaweed soup. Everyone wonders what's the occasion and the housekeeper says that Chae Won asked her to make it since it was Young Ja's birthday. When Chae Won sits down, all 3 wonder if her memories are back. She says no, she saw it on the calendar. JuRi and Chul Gyu are apologetic since they forgot their own mother's birthday, she calls them both heartless. Chae Won suggests that they all meet up later for a birthday dinner. Young Ja shoots it down saying that the house was a mess, but Chae Won insists saying that it only comes once a year and should be celebrated. Chul Gyu says that his mother could learn a thing or two from her. She wants to know what she can learn and he tells her that no matter how ill she may treat her, she still wants to celebrate her birthday. She mumbles to herself. 

In her room, she calls the lawyer to make sure everything is still going. She is relieved to know that all of the property her son owns is put in someone else's name and that all of his money is stored. The lawyer asks about the contract and she says it's kept well in her safe. Chae Won overhears this and forgot that she has signed a prenuptial agreement. A flashback reveals that Young Ja had made her sign it to 'prove' she wasn't with Chul Gyu for the money. Before they head to work, Young Ja thanks Chae Won for the seaweed soup and Chul Gyu makes sure to remind his mother the kind of person his wife is. She says okay, she got it. JuRi comes down, Chul Gyu reminds her about the party. Her mother suggests she bring 'that person', JuRi asks who and is reminded about that person she's been meeting. She says that they aren't at that stage yet for her to bring him over for dinner. Everyone heads out to work, leaving Chae Won alone. She sneaks into Young Ja's room to try and open the safe, but she doesn't know the password. Ahjumma is walking in with Se Yoon's shoes and thinks they're her husbands, but Chae Won says they're hers and takes them. 

       Se Yoon and Chae Won meet for coffee so she can return the shoes to him. He tells her that her husband called him late last night asking about her. She says she's sorry, but he says sorry isn't going to cut it. She apologizes for constantly bothering him, he says it isn't because she's bothering him. He tells her that he has a lawyer friend and he can introduce her. She declines saying that she will fix her own problems. She says that even though she seems pathetic and poor, she will fix her own problem since he told her that it was her homework to solve. He says that even though she keeps getting played, she's confident. He then tells her that his schedule has been wrecked and he has tons of paperwork to look over. Ever since he got that call, he's been worried. She says sorry, but nothing like that will happen again. He doesn't agree and asks her how many times has it been so far. For a person who lost her memories, why does she deal with it. What kind of nonsense is she talking about. She assures him that she will do them on her own, but he still doesn't believe she has any kind of plan. He gets up to leave when she says thank for everything up until now. If it wasn't for him then she wouldn't even be there. Then she says that the day she met him in the bathroom and he had let her use his phone, maybe things would have turned out better. He looks at her and says "Your memories..." and she nods. He sits down and asks why she didn't tell him before and congratulates her. She tells him not to worry about her anymore and she can solve her problems on her own from now on. He tells her that when things get harder confide in a close friend or family or even him. She says that she's bothered him enough already and he's gone through some ridiculous things because of her. She laughs as she says that he was the first person she thought of when she regained her memory. She gives him back the shoes he loaned her. She says thanks to him, she was warm.They shake hands and he tells her not to lose her memories or people anymore. He says he has faith in her. She tells him on top of being a warm person, he's also a good person. I am spazzing at this scene! OMG! You can totally tell that there are feelings there, especially on Se Yoon's part. He's into her, he doesn't care so much for nothing. Can't wait for them to get together!!

        JuRi is holding the company's newest food samples and is on her way to her boss whens she sees Seol Ju walk into the the bathroom. She sees this as another chance to make herself look good so she walks into the restroom where she spots the cleaning ladies. She asks them if they've eaten lunch, but they said they've just finished cleaning the the first floor. She eyes the stalls and takes out two samples and hands them over. She asks them to try them out and tell her how they taste. The women are happy since they're being acknowledged. Seol Ju comes out of the bathroom to see who was being so nice. JuRi "slips" and calls her mother-in-law then "realizes" it and calls her mother. The two women gush about how JuRi's the nicest female employee there for thinking about them. Seol Ju reminds her of the promise she made to come over one day and officially invites her over. 

  When Seol Ju comes home, she finds Do Hee in her living room. The housekeeper said she had been there for a few hours. She calmly sits down and Do Hee gets up screaming, calling her a liar for her husband not being promoted as previously promised. Seol Ju states that up until a few days ago, he was going to be promoted, but Do Hee's club problems made it impossible so there was nothing that she could do. DoHee yells that she'd rather make her husband work at her in-laws' factory so he could inherit it than work at a dirty company. Seol Ju tells her to stop speaking so irrational, but Do Hee keeps going saying she could speak 10 or 100 times worse. Seol Ju tells her to not curse like that, but that fuels her more. She says that even in school she did 10 times better than her. Then she says that Seol Ju met her husband by luck, her life was straightened out and called her an orphan. Right away realizing she said it, Do Hee begins apologizing saying it shouldn't have come out of her mouth. However, all of her apologizing is futile when Seol Ju kicks her out. It appears that she hasn't been called that in a long time because it really affected her. 

   Meanwhile, Choon Hee is coming from the subway when she spots Hyo Dong with Ki Ok who she mistakes for his wife. Hyo Dong and Ki Ok are discussing their dad's money and she's surprised that he knew nothing about it. She's there to recruit him on her side since she's at a disadvantage for her being the daughter. She promises to give him 10% if she gets the inheritance. He laughs and says he doesn't need it. Choon Hee hides herself when they walk by and wonder why he's been bothering her when he has a young and pretty wife at home. When he shows up to check in on her later, she's not too happy to see him. She tells him to turn his attention to his young wife. He repeats those words in confusion, but Kang Jin walks in before he could clear it up. He hesitantly shakes Kang Jin's hand and becomes jealous when she wants to go to the movies with Kang Jin. He insists that her ankle isn't okay and she should be resting, but Kang Jin is happy to finally go out with her. She says he's acting strange when he tells her that she shouldn't be going out now. She asks if he's her husband and he doesn't respond. Kang Jin plays a joke on Hyo Dong and pretends that his mother-in-law is there. He tells him maybe he should go home before he gets into trouble. He gets upset with Kang Jin and Choon Hee mistakes him for being violent. He doesn't understand why she's acting like that. 

 Chae Won walks in on the housekeeper burning newspaper articles and says that the President told her to do so. She realizes it's the proof that Chul Gyu had cheated on her. She acts like she doesn't know what it is. She thinks to herself that there's no need to be nice anymore since she's endured as much as she could. She's going to give them back as much as they've given her. 

   Chul Gyu is in his office looking at properties in Europe seeming interested in the fact they they would become citizens once they bought the property. His mother comes in so he hides the brochures. She wonders what he's hiding from her, but he says nothing. She asks him if he's leaving and he answers yes. She wants to go together, but he has to pick up Chae Won. She says that Chae Won can take a taxi then switches to mentioning driver Kim, but he says he'll pick her up and meet there. She tells him he's overreacting. 

   JuRi visits Se Yoon in his office and he jokes with her asking if she has any drinking appointments. She defends herself saying that she's not an alcoholic or anything, but he wants to know why she was acting out when she was drunk. He asks if she's dating and says what jerk is giving her a hard time. He asks if he should give whoever it is a piece of his mind, but she runs out crying leaving him to wonder what he just did. 

     Kang Sook and Do Hee accidentally meet up and their in-laws' place, both wondering what the other is doing there. Do Hee asks about the restaurant and is told they closed it recently. Do Hee says that how could her small store be a priority when there's millions of dollars in inheritance at stake. Kang Sook says they've been thinking of closing it down since she's too tired and business wasn't going well anyways. Do Hee tells her to not tell obvious lies to each other, but Kang Sook tells her she's being too obvious. She says that Do Hee was the one who got grossed out by the thought of going to visit and got sick within a 500 meter radius of being there, but she ears that she's been visiting often. Kkeut Soon comes out to greet them and invite them in. Kang Sook walks in first with Do Hee behind her. 

   Meanwhile, Choon Hee is at the movies with Kang Jin and couldn't be more miserable. He's trying to feed her popcorn, but she's declining it. She wonders why he's not watching the movie and it's because he's already seen it. He says it's not as entertaining the second time, but she asks why he even saw it with her. He tells her that he can't say no when a pretty woman asks him out on a date. That word doesn't sit well with her and she says that it's not a date, she just wanted to kill time. He continuously tries to feed her, but she throws the bucket when she's fed up. She gets up and leaves. He follows her out and they continue to argue in the lobby, he says he fed her so she could concentrate on the movie. He thinks she has feelings for him, but she denies it. Then Ki Ok calls him to say hi, she's there to meet a friend. Choon Hee looks at her and says she must be the Utility Oppa's wife, Ki Ok doesn't understand what she's talking about. Kang Jin says she's not married and saying that might interfere with her future. Choon Hee asks if she's not his wife, but Ki Ok doesn't know who Utility Oppa is then figures it out. She explains that that's her brother-in-law. Choon Hee asks if her Unnie is his wife, she says yes but her sister dies 20 years ago. 

    Young Ja is seated at the restaurant and tells the waiter that her kids will be there so she'll wait for them. Chul Gyu and Chae Won are on their way to the restaurant, he's telling her about his real estate agent friend. She says that his mother will be very angry with him, but he tells her that they have to live apart for a while so she can realize how valuable Chae Won is. Still she insists that his mom won't give him permission, but he advises her to trust only him and he will protect her. Then she gets a "headache" which alarms Chul Gyu. He wants to take her to a hospital, but she says no to just drop her off so she can take a bus back. He wants to turn around and she tells him no since his mother is waiting. He tells her eating isn't important and busts a U-Turn to head back home. So far, no one has yet arrived at Young Ja's party. Her cake has arrived and she's not looking too happy. She receives a call from Chul Gyu who says he's on his way home to treat Chae Won's headache. Young Ja wonders if she's doing it on purpose then she calls JuRi to see where she is. JuRi says she can't come because something came up and she'll see her at home. 

   JuRi is hanging out with Se Yoon at a bar. He wants to know why she was crying earlier. She tells him that she's been in love with him since before Eun Seol, she tells him that he's the only man for her. His smile fades. 

   Chae Won is laying down when Chul Gyu comes in with some painkillers and a glass of water. He helps her sit up and she says she feels a little better after laying down for a while. 

She's worried about her mother-in-law's party and he says it's okay since it's almost time for her to come back. Then he gets a phone call from his real estate friend who wants him to view the pictures and stuff of a home for them. He wonders if she's going to be okay and she says that she feels better. Once he leaves, she gets out of bed and heads out. 

  Young Ja is a little tipsy from the wine and blew out her candles alone, none of her kids showed up. She even said that she had bad luck with her husband. She starts to eat the cake with her fingers when Chae Won walks in. She looks up at her and says she thought she was too sick to come. Chae Won states that it's still her birthday and her daughter-in-law shouldn't be absent, it would make her feel bad. Young Ja says that even if she's feeling well, the sight of her gives her a headache and lose her appetite. her chest palpitates and she becomes neurotic. She also says that for the past 3 years she's been sleeping pills, tranquilizers, and blood pressure pills. Chae Won walks closer to her, bends over, and says in her ear: Then you need to hospitalized, too. Young Ja looks up and says what, Chae Won stands up and says Should I take you? End. 

Min Chae Won is out for revenge and I am LOVING it!!!!
