Chae Won doesn't look happy...

Episode 7

    This episode starts off where we left off with Chul Gyu getting drunk in the kitchen after he finds out about Chae Won's "infidelity". He asks what's the suitcase for and she says that she is leaving since the situation isn't good for either of them to be around each other. He drunkenly tells her that he said that she can't leave his side and he's going to torture her until the day she dies.

He says that she can't leave the house before she dies and she will know what a mistake she made by betraying him. She tells him that he's cruel, but then he gets and grabs her shoulders to tell her that he was trying to make up for all the  mistakes that he made, but now she's cheating on him and stepping over his heart.He throws the glass and tells her that she trampled over his heart so she's the cruel one. She ducks over, but then has flashbacks of a similar incident that happened before. Now she's fearful because she can slightly remember him doing that another time. Young Ja comes in and asks him what's he doing, saying that he could hurt his hand(Really?). She tells him that why is he doing all of this in anger when he could just divorce her. He slurs and says that he's never going to divorce her, but his mom just tells him that he's drunk and should go to bed. She orders Chae Won to clean up the mess. When she goes to clean up the glass, the ahjumma tells her not to do it who then says that that was close and she almost got hurt like the other time. Chae Won perks up and asks this happened another time? She tops to think and says that he threw a wine glass at her before, the ahjumma replies yes and that she had a cut on her neck from it. She looks at the faint scar on her neck and tells herself that she has to remember, she can't live like a fool forever.

     We then see Se Yoon in his office when his father comes in to speak to him. He hands over an invitation and Se Yoon is wondering what it is. His father says that a three generation noodle house in Paju is celebrating their 100th anniversary today and since their former president and his father were close, they were invited. He wants him to stop by there to represent the company and maybe he will be inspired by being in an old fashioned factory. Se Yoon agrees to go. 

    Chul Gyu is sound asleep in bed when Chae Won covers him with a blanket. Her phone rings and it's her grandmother who is wondering if she and her husband are attending the celebration. She wonders where they are, then Chae Won remembers she was suppose to go out. She heads downstairs where Young Ja is sitting drinking red ginseng and reading. She asks where she's going and Chae Won tells her that she'll be back, she's going to visit her family. Young Ja retorts "You'll be back? You don't have to come back", Chae Won ignores that and just says that it's the family's business 100th anniversary and all of the family will be there. Young Ja just laughs at the fact that a small business like that is having a 100th anniversary party. She looks at Chae Won and asks if she thinks she's being too much. Just because Chul Gyu said he'd never divorce her, did she think that she'd be living there for rest of her life. She didn't work like a dog to feed and house an unfaithful daughter-in-law, she says her son will torture her until she's skin and bones. She says that maybe Chae Won got used to living like that, but don't become a freeloader. Chae Won is obviously bothered by the comments, but just bows and says she'll be back. 

      Se Yoon is on his way to the noodle house when Seok Joon calls him and tells him he's on his way to Seoul. He says that he was on his way to a photography club outing, but thought of him and decided to turn around. He asks what time he'll get to Seoul then he calls Chae Won, who is on a bus. He asks her what time she can meet because he has proof she was hospitalized. She doesn't want to see him and tells him that they have no more business with each other. He laughs and says that he's not asking her out, he just has a witness to prove that she was at the hospital he told her about. She doesn't want to hear it and hangs up. He takes out his bluetooth and wonders if she really does think he likes her then asks why this is happening. 

    At the Old Noodle House, a few of the people Pyong Dal invited have arrived for a bowl of noodles. he looks happy as he's greeting each of his guests. He looks down the road as if he's waiting on someone to arrive, he then goes inside to see his wife who mentions almost nobody came despite all the invitations they had sent out. He asks about their kids and she begins: Ki Moon, Ki Choon, and Kang Sook can't come. Do Hee and Ki Ok should be arriving at any moment. Then she wonders where Hyo Dong is, she calls for him and there isn't an answer. Pyong Dal looks and just sighs, it's obvious that he really wanted his children there with him. Choon Hee has put Hyo Dong in her room after he is knocked out during the incident in her bar. She calls him a weakling and says that he knocks out easily. He starts snoring and she says that she can't wake him up like that, so she leaves him. 

Young Seol Ju was left at the orphanage by her aunt

    Seol Ju is in her room and opens up the box of hair pins that Choon Hee gave her. She starts speaking to 'Choon Hee' asking if she really collected the hairpins and such whenever she thought about her, then says she's never forgotten her for even a day. Flashback: Seol Ju is a little girl and is being dropped off at an orphanage by her aunt who says that she's coming back for her in a few days and tries to give her some money to get snacks with, young Seol Ju throws it down. Her aunt puts it in her hand again and tells her that she's coming back for her, then she gets in the waiting taxi and leaves. Seol Ju runs after the taxi screaming for her aunt to take her with her. She promises to be a good girl, but please don't leave her. You can see her aunt waving in the back window also looking sad as if she didn't want to leave her. Young Seol Ju falls to the ground and just cries. Then a young Choon Hee comes up and asks if she's new, Seol Ju nods. Choon Hee introduces herself and says that she arrived there last month. She pulls out a ring and puts it on her finger. Young Seol Ju asks why she gave it to her and Young Choon Hee smiles and says she likes her and says let's be friends. Back to the present and Seol Ju is holding the ring in her hand and cries. She apologizes to Choon Hee and thanks her. 

    Now we're seeing Ki Choon and Kang Sook at their restaurant which is as busy as ever. Ki Choon is in a happy mood as he's serving the customers and Kang Sook is chopping the pork. Kang Sook also seems to be in a good mood considering the amount of customers they have. When he tells her of an order from one of the table, she says okay Director. When he hears that he asks if he's been promoted, she says that it doesn't cost any money so he's the director now. He smiles and says okay President, then his mood sours when he thinks about his father and how he must be upset with them. Kang Sook says that she would give money if she was making more than what they were making. He says that his dad was very excited about the celebrations today and she tells him that they can just go see him when they close, he'll understand why they couldn't make it. She asks him when was the last time they've had this many customers, he sighs knowing she's right. She tells him that he's too kindhearted and asks if he didn't learn anything from being compared to his brother last time. He says of course he did. She smiles and says to not let his mind wander and to work hard while patting his butt. Ki Choon smiles and says that it's been a while since she treated him nicely and turns his butt around, she sighs and says that his butt has become chubbier since he's been laying in bed all winter. She says "What a sexy butt" and pats him again, he winks at her. She holds up the pork and says that she'd better not give him a chance, reminding him that they got divorced a long time ago. He says he only did it because she was drooling over his butt. She scolds him and says to cut the crap and get back to work. Another customer asks for a Soju and he runs to get it. Kang Sook just stares at him while saying that he has the looks, is nice and strong and would be the perfect man if he gets real and works hard.(So I'm guessing his laziness was the reason for divorce? So far, we don't know the exact reason why they aren't together) 

      Ki Ok is laying in bed sick when she hears her phone ringing, she hesitates to answer but she does. It's her mother wondering where she is, she tells her that she has the flu so she can't go anywhere. Kkeut Soon says that her father is waiting for her, but Ki Ok says she's like the disowned daughter and for them to have fun with their sons and daughters-in-law, then hangs up and lays back down.(I'm guessing she just wanted to get off the phone, but I wonder if there is any truth to her not being a favorite)

   Chae Won gets off the bus and looks around, making sure she's in the right area. Then her phone rings and it's Se Yoon, she just ignores the phone call and starts walking. Pyong Dal is still looking down the road ans Kkeut Soon comes out to see him. She says she guesses that the cold weather is the reason behind no one really coming, though she thought Mr. Choi would come since he gave his word that he would. He just tells her to donate the remaining food and souvenirs to the senior citizen home. She says that he was so excited and she feels sorry for him(Does anyone else think that she whines a little too much sometimes? IDK Maybe I'm just a bit tired of her sometimes). She wonders where Hyo Dong is and then thinks about Choon Hee and wonders if he went by there again. 

    Hyo Dong finally wakes up and gets alarmed when he doesn't know where he is. Choon Hee wakes up and asks her why he's there. She tells him that he got in a fight with her customers and was knocked down. He asks if she's alright and she respond yes. Then she asks him why did he recklessly fight with them and he said that he saw her being bullied and didn't think. She scoots closer and asks why did it make him blow his top to see that, he moves away and say it's because they are friends who are sharing a secret. She nods yes, they are friends. He tells her that he learned martial arts in school, but it mostly self defense. You can tell by her laugh that she doesn't believe him. He starts to defend himself when she touches his hair and says he's cute. He stutters and gets his phone out to check the time, he becomes alarmed when he sees the time and thinks he's missed the party. He tells Choon Hee that the noodle house is celebrating 100 years. He just came to drop off food for her and leave, he says that his parents will be worried about him. Both of them become scared when they hear the bell from the door, but it's just Kang Jin at the door. She tells Hyo Dong to wait until she sends him away. When she sees him, Kang Jin has eaten up most of the mungbean pancakes Hyo Dong brought her and she is very upset. He just says that they're mungbean pancakes and she says that someone's life was on the line because of those. She tries to rush him away with a free beer when she hears Kkeut Soon come in, with that she stuffs the last pancake in his mouth so she can't see them. Kkeut Soon comes in and asks if her son-in-law came by and Choon Hee says no. Kkeut Soon still looks around suspiciously and Choon Hee excused herself saying she was ironing. She runs back in the room and tells Hyo Dong that she's there. She tells him to get into her wardrobe and hide there until she tells him it's safe. She doesn't want to take any chances since his MIL is very smart and could barge in there if she thinks she's lying. She pushes him in there and closes the door, a nightgown falls and Hyo Dong looks embarrassed to look at and puts it down. Then he picks it up out of curiosity and smells it. He says it smells like apple blossoms and is engrossed in the smelling of her closet when she opens the door to remind him not to come out until she tells him to.(Him smelling her clothes like that would be weird if I didn't think about the fact that he was so busy raising Chae Won and working since his wife died 20 years ago that he has never looked at any other woman like that. it must be very confusing for someone who has never thought about dating to now really like another woman in that way)

  Kkeut Soon is just watching Kang Jin eat and just says that seeing him eat like that makes her mouth water.  He doesn't tell her what he's eating, but feeds her compliments saying she looks better since he saw her last and she looks 30 years younger. She says he has good manners and asks if he lives around there. He tells her he lives on the rooftop. She notes that he lives alone and appears to be a widower from his looks, he asks if it's that obvious. She then offers to introduce him to a woman and he looks happy. Choon Hee comes out and Kkeut Soon asks for 3 glasses of alcohol, Choon Hee looks shocked and wonder why. She's told that there is a good match for her. She points to Kang Jin and starts saying that he's good-looking, tall, has good manners, etc. Both of them are shocked and Choon Hee seems upset that he's said nothing about, he defends himself by saying Kkeut Soon did this without asking him. Kkeut Soon just says that they should get married and she'll help with a Spring wedding. Both of them speak at the same time saying that this is nuts. 

   We then see Do Hee at her rich woman's club talking about investsments. She speaks highly of her advisor who has helped with the club before. His name is David Kim and he knows a lot, the women look impressed and they begin an auction. A man comes in and informs her that she has visitors she gets up wondering who it is. Whens he gets out in the hallway, two men are there and ask if she's Do Do Hee, she says yes. They tell her that they're with the Gangnam Police Department and she has a warrant out for her arrest for conspiracy for fraud. She says that she's never done something like that, but they ask her about David Kim who has 4 criminal charges against him and has fled the country. Her club members come out and begin grabbing her telling her that she's committed fraud with their club's money and she screams that it wasn't her and runs off. Her heel breaks and if caught by the detectives and the other women. 

Slowly, her memory is returning 

   Hyo Dong gets home, but is too nervous to go in and starts to hide when he thinks he sees someone coming. Chae Won walks up and calls him, he's happy to see her. She tells him that Chul Gyu had an important meeting and was unable to come with her. Before they go in, he reminds her that no one knows about her amnesia yet because he doesn't want them to worry about her for nothing. She nods and says she's act appropriately. She stops to look at the noodles and her father tells her about the family business. She then has a flashback to her childhood when she used to run through the noodles and play around with her grandfather and watch him while he was making the noodles. She smiles at the childhood memory she's just regained, but doesn't tell her father just yet. He's still worried that he's going to get scolded for failing to attend himself. They go inside to see Pyong Dal laying down with Kkeut Soon by his side, she's happy to see her. She asks about her trip abroad and Chae Won says she had a good time, but her focus turns to Hyo Dong when she wonders where he was. He lies and says that his boss called him for an emergency. They ask what's wrong with Pyong Dal and she says that he's upset because no one came, once again she tells him to give up the business. Then they hear a car horn and wonder who it could be. They walk out to see that it's a Hearst and several people are standing around looking sad, one is holding a picture and it's Mr. Choi. His children are there to fulfill their father's last wish to be at the noodle factory once again with Pyogn Dal. Mr. Choi was very sick and was looking forward to the party. It's a very solemn moment when they all pay respect to Mr. Choi. 

    Chul Gyu runs downstairs asking where Chae Won went and asks if she went to see "that jerk", Young Ja is reading ans is caught off guard when she asks who he's talking about, he reminds her of that jerk they met in Na Hae. He says he wonders if they met up and where would they meet at. Young Ja sneers and says who cares if they meet. He says that who would stay cool if their wife was cheating on them, he pulls out his phone to call her. She, surprisingly, tells the truth that she went to visit her grandparents for their noodle factory's anniversary. He gets up and starts heading out, she asks where he's going and tells her to pick Chae Won up. Young Ja tells him that she'll be back so why bother. He says that she probably deceived her and is out with him right now. As he heads out, Young Ja wonders if she's made him develop a delusional jealousy. It appears that his behavior is bothering her. Ha! This is what you get lady! Lying and telling her that she had an affair before her accident was pretty damn low, even for you. Then telling your son hoping that he'll divorce her was dumb as well, especially him for believing it. Now you created a monster because every time she's out, he thinks she's with Se Yoon. He's not going to divorce her now, you're stuck with her unless she gets her memory back. Hahaha!!!!! 

      Now Pyong Dal is laying down, sad because of the loss of his friend. Chae Won is getting ready to head home and says that it's because her mother-in-law is there. Hyo Dong looks worried asking why she's not at work, she says she's just not in great shape. Kkeut Soon understands and tells her it's okay if she has to go take care of her. Her father offers her a ride and she says she can take the bus, but her grandmother says to let him drive her since it's cold. So she says she can just take a taxi, she wants her dad to stay there with her grandpa since he's not doing well. They hear him moaning so they both run into the room, Hyo Dong tells her not to leave just yet and he'll be with her in a little. As she's walking outside, Se Yoon comes up and she looks shocked to see him, thinking he's followed her there. He tries to explain his reasons, but she drags him away when she hears her father calling her. Hyo Dong thinks she's left already and head back inside. He stops her and tries to tell her again why he's there since she's not the reason, but Chul Gyu drives up and spots them. He automatically thinks they were there to see each and gets out of his car and lunges at Se Yoon and punches him. He starts asking why he's there, so he could introduce himself to her family? She asks her if she's tell him she'd marry him and she says it's not like that. Se Yoon swears that he never had an affair with her, Chul Gyu says that's what you're suppose to say. He goes to hit him again, but Chae Won stops him and tries to calm him down. 

Chul Gyu tells Se Yoon that there' evidence, but he says that his evidence will soon prove to be false. He looks at her and asks if she's siding with him, she says no she's not. He says that she dares to take his side, she tells let's talk. He pushes her off of him and Se Yoon catches her before she falls. Chul Gyu calls him shameless trash and gets in his car to leave with Chae Won not far behind him calling him. He looks pissed, Chae Won scared and Se Yoon shocked. 

In the car, Chae Won begins to explain and tells him that there's been a misunderstanding and he's wrong about what happened, she wasn't taking his side at all. He just tells her to shut up. He pulls over and orders her to get out of the car. She tries to reason with him, but he tells her not to call him 'Honey' since she's disgusting and yells at her to get out. She steps out and he drives off leaving her on the side of the road. Her phone rings and it's her therapist calling to confirm her appointment that day. She goes to see the therapist and explains that she can't remember anything. She asks her about who she was since she was obviously seeing her often, then she must know about what she was like. The therapist tells her that "...Min Chae Won can tell you herself" since she had recorded their sessions. She presses play and we can hear Chae Won talking to the therapist about what she was going through: She begins by saying that her mother-in-law demanded she sign a pledge right after she returned from her honeymoon. It was a written promise with a minimum of 3 months to 3 years, Youg Ja said that she couldn't let her run off with any of her son's properties. After 3 years of marriage, she only had $3000 in her bank account. Her mother-in-law had also taken her to the doctor to receive medicine to keep her from getting pregnant. She had also said that her husband had turned into a different person after they were married and no longer protected her. They fought several times a week. She said that she had tried to hold on a little bit longer, but could no longer take it and filed for divorce. When she hears what she had went through, Chae Won becomes upset and can't believe that she's lived a hard life. She's still trying to come to terms with what she just heard when Se Yoon calls to meet with her. She meets with Se Yoon and his friend Seok Jun, who works at the mental hospital where she was admitted. He says that while he never met her, he can say that she was the 'special patient' that the president had staying there. He said that she had bodyguards with her and only the director was allowed to see her, he checked her charts himself. Se Yoon then tells her that he couldn't have had the affair because he was in the US for 3 years and had just returned when he ran into her, he even shows her his passport. He then explains to her what was happening in each of the pictures: When she had refused to go back to the hospital, he shows Seok Jun one and explains that's when they were at his house, and the other was from when she had to be taken to the hospital when Young Ja ordered the kiwi juice for her. He asks about another one that shows them looking intimate because he can't recognize it, but Seok Jun tells him that it's a composite. He's into photography and can tell that it was a composite photo. He can't understand what kind of family would frame their daughter-in-law as being an adulteress unless there was a divorce in the process.

When their meeting is over, he says that he hopes that she leaves that house immediately. He doesn't want to think that a family could do this, but the longer she stays the more trouble she'll be in. Se Yoon is just glad his  names is cleared up and hopes they won't have to meet like this again. Before he leaves, Chae Won tells him that despite his cold exterior, he's a warm-hearted person and she's very grateful to him. He smiles a little.
     When he gets home, Se Yoon is greeted by his father who tells him that his mother isn't feeling too well. He goes to see her and he reminds her where he was at, she just says that she was stressed this afternoon, but becomes alarmed when he asks what made her so stressed. She brushes it off as nothing.(Hmmm stressed because you know how insensitive and thoughtless you were towards your childhood friend? Guess all of that money has gotten to her head) Back in his room, he can't help but think about what Chae Won had said to him and it makes him smile.
   Chae Won walks in the door and is greeted by Chul Gyu who accuses her of being with Se Yoon this entire time, she looks at him and attempts to walk away before he grabs her wrist to stop her. He asks her what she's been doing with him all this time, but she just responds with "A thief who steals thinks everyone else is a thief too" or something along those lines. He asks what does she mean and she wants to stop talking.  He says she's acting tough because of that jerk, but she just walks away. Ju Ri wants to know what's happening, but no one tells her anything. Both Young Ja and Chul Gyu tell her to mind her own business. Young Ja then asks about her love life and Ju Ri says she's starting her plan again tomorrow, she doesn't want her mom interfering so she's not telling her anything. Chae Won asks the ahjumma about her suitcase and is told that she was told to put it in the basement. It seemed like she had a lot of important things in there.
   Pyong Dal is still upset over the passing of his friend and says that soon his factory will soon decay, but he has to do something about it. Just then Ki Moon calls and Hyo Dong tries to hand him the phone, but poor gramps just gets up and walks away. When he answers, Hyo Dong finds out that Do Hee was taken into custody over a conspiracy to commit fraud charge. Ki Choon and kang Sook are counting their money when Bo Reum says that Auntie Do Hee is on TV  but they don't believe it. He insists that it;s her and they both look at the tv and see her getting arrested. While in custody, Do Hee insists on her innocence and says that she really thought he was a investment adviser and she's a victim as well. Ki Moon, Hyo Dong, Ki Choon, and Kang Sook come in to see her. She says that her reputation and life are completely shattered now. Ki Moom asks them how did they know to come since he never called and they both answer that they saw her on TV   When she hears this asks how did she look and if the camera blurred out her face. Ki Choon and Kang Sook both answer no, but say that Bo Reum recognized her right away. She starts whining again saying that she has no reason to live. Ki Moon bursts out and yells at her.
     Kang Jin comes by to see Ki Ok since she's been missing classes. He goes to feel her forehead and she jumps back, he automatically assumes she likes him, but she says no. He came to give her soup to eat and she says thank you. He has other intentions and says that he's down to $618 now and she says okay fine.
  Choon Hee is still thinking about what happened with Jeol Ju and is upset over still, but is sure that her Unnie wasn't trying to get rid of her. She blames her inferior complex. Back at the Lee household, Se Yoon thinks something is troubling his mother, but she says no. However, she notices how happy he's been. She apologizes for not approving of his marriage with Eun Sol and says that had she approved then the accidents wouldn't have happened. He assures her it isn't her fault and that it was her fate. He tells her that it's all in the past now. She promises that whoever he chooses next then she'll support him.
   Chul Gyu turns over and notices his wife missing and gets up, Chae Won is checking the basement and sees that it's locked. She needs to get the key. When she comes back up, Chul Gyu is there and thinks she went to talk to Se Yoon. He grabs her wrist and demands that he check her phone to be sure, but she tells him to stop it. She tells him that he has some nerve doing this knowing what he's done to her and calls him disgusting. He puts up his hand to hit her and grabs his wrist warning him not to touch her. Just then Young Ja comes out and pushes her down for trying to use violence against her son.  She says she's the one who's done wrong and calls her a filthy brat. Chae Won just laughs, Chul Gyu asks if
she's gone crazy while Young Ja wonders if her brain was cracked when she lost her memory. Chae Won still has that smirk on her face and asks if she's going to put her in a mental hospital again and Chul Gyu asks what she's talking about. She asks which one will it be this time, Young Ja looks flustered while Chul Gyu looks completely lost. Chae Won sheds a tear. End.



Haha! Even though she hasn't gotten her memory back, just knowing something like that took Young Ja completely by surprise and didn't know what to say. I laughed so hard at this scene. With knowledge, Chae Won has gotten her backbone again.
