T-Drama Review: When I See You Again Episode 18

Not a filler yay! So much CEO Luna, boo!! Okay, I know we needed this to gain more closure before the finale, but this woman so unlikable. Yan Ze is so determined to beat You Qian at something that he's about to lose everything.

I knew, I knew it (that Mulan was a troublemaker from the start! Kidding), I knew that An Xi would forgive her deadbeat mother. That's in her nature and it would be out of character if she were to stay angry, she has to remain consistent although I wish they'd make her tougher. She can be forgiving, but she can be a pushover at times. Well this drama is almost over so changing how she operates now would be rushed and wouldn't make sense. Even then, Luna does not deserve her as a daughter, she only cares now because she's ill and she wants to mold her like she did with Yong Qing (and ultimately failed). Luna only cares about herself and what will make her look good, she won't allow herself to acknowledge her mistakes and try to make amends. You'd think Mei Wen's talk would have done something, but she just sat there. If anything, An Xi has had a mother all along in Mei Wen, she's been around her entire life and has always had that motherly feel to her. At this point, I feel whatever happens to Luna is well deserved and I have no sympathy for her even if the drama attempts to make her look pitiful. I know An Xi will forgive You Qian, he was only trying to protect her and it wasn't his place to divulge what her mother wasn't willing to do. She knows this, but it will take her some time to really face him again.

I am glad Yong Qing questioned her brother's reasons for telling her about her boyfriend now, she deserves to know everything, but not to be a pawn in anyone's game that no one is willing to play. She seemed so relaxed and much happier in this episode, plus Ivy Shao looks so much prettier when she smiles. I also enjoyed her heart to heart with You Qian, she realized that she doesn't need to be with him or anyone like him, she needs to move past her pain and anger in order to be truly happy. I believe she will help aide in bringing her brother back to reality, he really needs it. After rewatching episode 18, I believe Yong Qing may become friends with our Lunar Maria circle, she seems to really have opened her eyes to Ya Lu and how close he is with Ya En. All she wants is real friends and family, I know they can provide that for her.

The thing about Yan Ze is that he knows when he's cornered and his actions show that he's desperate, for example when he moved the contract signing to a secret location. He's desperate for any type of recognition and to be You Qian that he can't see that all of his actions are going to cost him everything: His sister, his job, and Ya En (he won't realize it, but it will affect hi deeply if she leaves him). You Qian has mentioned that he knows his weakness although it's safe to assume that Yan Ze does not think he knows exactly what it is yet. I'm still banking on Ya En, but I could be wrong. It would just make sense given that he asked her to always choose him, why do that if she's not his weakness? When he's with her, his face softens and he appears to actually relax, but then he has this guilty look as if he's really conscious of his actions and how they could affect her.

I was also happy to see Jiang Hai Kuo stepping up to help save his hometown, even if he says it's for An Xi, it showed he's more than just someone who is clingy and pining for her love. He's being more proactive and seems to actually be doing his job (whatever that may be). The next episode will show us You Qian being more aggressive in his attacks against Yan Ze and An Xi seemingly finding out about Ya En's secret relationship. What I really want more than anything is for Ya En to stand up for herself and to say she's capable of making her own decisions, I do know what Yan Ze is doing, but I stand in my opinion. She's said before that she wants to experience life like others and Ya Lu and An Xi both need to realize this.
