[Opinion] What Makes You Stop Watching a Drama?
What Makes You Want to Drop A Drama?
As much as I love K-dramas, I do have to admit that there were those shows that I loved in the beginning but then became bored and had to stop watching. This won't be a long rant, but I wanted to give a few reasons why some avid K-Drama watchers may stop watching what could have been their favorite drama.
1) Bad actors - Nothing worst than a drama with bad actors. It's one thing if it's a rookie actor/actress who isn't a main lead, but it's another if they're a main lead & haven't made any improvements. Some fans only keep up a drama due to the excellent script or good chemistry between the leads even if one or both of them isn't any good at acting. Eye candy & a good script is sometimes enough to keep people watching.
2) Speaking of scripts..a bad script is what makes most drop a drama like a hot potato. Now the ones with terrible writing often start off strong and with great potential then they take a nosedive and never come back up. Some shows are way too long or not long enough and the writing can suffer. Sometimes the writing is good except for revenge plots that last too long and then can make the rest of the story ridiculous. I think most of us can agree that even a great actor can't save a bad script.
3) Dramas that are way too long when they didn't need to be - Have you ever watched a drama that had a great story, great actors, but it was 10 episodes longer than what it should be? This can go along in the script department because when a drama is too long then the writing can suffer when again, revenge plots or something can start to seem repetitive.
These are just 3 examples of reasons why I may drop a drama, but I want to know what makes you stop watching? Is it one of these 3 reasons? Or is it something entirely different?
