T-Drama Review: When I See You Again Episode 4

This drama keeps getting better and better, making me almost wish that I had waited for more episodes to air so I could marathon them.

We've gotten more background on what exactly happened ten years ago that caused You Qian to become angry with An Xi. At first I really couldn't understand why he'd even place any blame on her, it wasn't really her fault that he took what those girl said seriously nor was it her fault that he hurt himself. But after giving it some thought and reading others' thoughts in the Soompi thread, I finally see that he's mainly angry with himself. His accident caused him to be hospitalized and have surgery which forced his grandfather to sell their home. He is very upset with how An Xi seemed to not appreciate his efforts in winning her heart, but the disappointment mainly lies with himself for caring so much about her and putting his life in danger. What needs to be done is for them to have a very open talk because so he did misunderstand her actions that day when she was visibly upset long before he showed up. So far, we've only seen their past through his memories so I hope we get to see these scenes from An Xi's point of view to know what she was thinking. Based on her cleaning his house and making up ghost stories to ward off potential buyers, we can see that she's waiting for him to come back; don't think my initial theory on her wanting to buy the house was correct.

Since An Xi was scaring off potential buyers, You Qian misunderstood her and figured she was being thoughtless. Once again, he is disappointed in himself for caring about her so he begins to act like a douche again. The best part is him attempting to act as if he doesn't care about her when he clearly does, he's conflicted and a joy to watch. He's asking her to do the most ridiculous things (like traveling 10km to change his tire?) and he's seeing his thoughts about her prove to be wrong. His heart is betraying his head, no matter how many times he tells himself that she's selfish and inconsiderate, her actions have proved otherwise. You can't ignore this and it's hilarious watching him attempt this. It's okay, You Qian, we will enjoy you squirm and continue to be uncomfortable until you finally confess (although it may take a while).

Meanwhile Jiang Hai Kuo has confessed 128475437 times, now him and his minions suspect You Qian and An Xi lied about You Qian being a tyrant. It was amusing seeing them try to catch him, only for An Xi to go instead yet no one thinks to check on their trap. They have their smart moments, but other times..not so much which makes me wonder why Hai Kuo even relies on them. Then again he isn't the sharpest tool in the shed so I can see why he'd rely on two people who seemingly have their moments. I do wonder if they'll be around for the entire drama or will they serve their purpose (whatever that is) and randomly disappear and no one will ever question where they went. Hai Kuo no longer has the deed to the hostel nor does An Xi owe him money, so I'm leaning towards him no longer being of any use, but he still does love An Xi so he can still be somewhere in the background. Although she'd have enough suitors with Ya Lu and eventually You Qian, don't think we need any more love lines in this drama. Wonder what episode 5 will bring us.
