Drama Review: Detectives of Seonam Girls High School Episode 7
This episode is a perfect example on how to handle comedy and serious tones within a drama. We got the usual comedy and we got the serious topic that was needed for this episode, but it never once felt like they were taking the topic less serious nor did they attempt to make this a melo.
When we were introduced to this case, I didn't think it would be as heartbreaking as it turned out to be (and we haven't even seen the end to their arc). I seriously had some dust in my eyes as the episode went on,

No one knew they'd discover Se Yoo got an abortion, they simply figured it was the one thing she had left of her boyfriend and that was it. In all honesty, I sort of figured out why her ex was so angry the minute they found ou the pink bunny was from a maternity collection. He didn't force her to have an abortion, he wanted the baby and was happy about it. You wonder why she made such a decision without [what I'm assuming] including him then you think back into the beginning of the episode when the girls were all gushing on how smart she was. Se Yoo is at the top of her class and is a shoo in for the best colleges, she was already seen as a model student among her peers and teachers. Adding a baby into the mix would have made her seem less than perfect and her image would have been tarnished. Then her parents were away in Canada, her ex stated she broke up with him when she came back from visiting them. Although we have yet to get that part of the story, it's pretty obvious that visit with her parents suddenly changed her tune about having a baby. We will see the continuation of this story since she tried to kill herself at the end of episode 7.
I am cringing at the thought of a love triangle in this drama because it's done so well without one. I mean, I think we all saw it coming the minute Chae Joon thought Ye Hee was Mi Do, but I was hoping they wouldn't do that since it'd too cliche. However, since we've now crossed that path where it has happened, I am hoping they don't cause the girls' friendship to be ruined because of that. We've seen that Mi Do and Ye Hee are very close, but I am afraid that Ye Hee will now be comfortable with playing Mi Do in front of Chae Joon. This is a weekly drama so I am hoping the identity thing is brought out soon or else both girls will suffer and their friendship won't be the same. I still find it odd that a grown man is hanging around his kid sister's friends like that, but it's what's in the story and I have to deal with it. Let's just hope he doesn't always tag along on their cases because that's really going to be awkward and it'll be harder for the girls to keep up the lie. Chae Joon will find out soon, he can't be that clueless. Can he?

Anyways, we haven't found out anything that could possibly give us any clue as to what happened aside from the very obvious fact that Ra On liked Mi Ye and feels guilty he wasn't able to save her. But my question is: Was she too far gone for someone to come in and save her? I'd love to see more flashbacks of her that aren't from Ra On. Since his feelings are included, he'd only see the good in her and not see what was really going on [if anything was going on].
I have never posted about the intros to this show, but I absolutely love them!!! Episode 7's showed Hyeri as herself speaking a press conference addressing comments about her acting and promises to become a better actress. It's hilarious because Hyeri has received criticism about her acting and I think this was pretty clevver of the show to kind of poke fun at that.
