Drama Review: Fated To Love You Episodes 3-4

I am so behind on this, it's been very hot where I live so I've just been too lazy to do much..including typing. With that said, I am enjoying this version and how the writers are choosing to approach the story..with some characters. So far, Se Ra seems to be just like Anna (Bianca Bai) from the original and I have already developed a non sympathetic view of her. Wang Ji Won is doing an excellent job, it's just that the character appears to be extremely selfish (as is most kdrama second leads) and she doesn't really have any redeeming qualities about her. That's how Anna was, I didn't feel sorry for her because they laid that part out much too late and she had already done most things in the drama that just made me want her to fall off a cliff. I hope I wasn't too harsh with that statement, but I just hope the writers change Se Ra into someone not as bad (or worse, that's possible).
Having already seen the original I know where the story is going, but it doesn't stop me from laughing and enjoying how each character is portrayed within the story. I am really liking the grandmother, she was a likable character in the original and I am loving her just as much right now. All she wants is for her dear grandson to have a child and she got her wish when she found out Mi Young was pregnant. I think that's what I enjoyed about this story, the man's side of the family actually celebrated him marrying or in this case having a child with someone who is from a "lower" class. Seeing her beat Geon up for Mi Young's almost abortion and then advocating for their marriage is total opposite from what we usually see. Then we have Mi Young's mother who is very much as feisty as her Taiwanese counterpart and I LOVE it! I actually am enjoying the family right now, yes Mi Young seems like the odd one out, but you can tell her sisters and mom love her and only want the best for her.
Now Mi Young only wanted the best for her unborn child, but I can honestly say I didn't enjoy how she made a decision that she presumed Geon wanted. Yes, she didn't want to bring a child into the world and have it be a burden on Geon and Se Ra plus how she couldn't give it everything, but she never actually asked him what he wanted to do and if he wanted her to actually abort it. Seeing him run back to the operating room before the surgery could be performed showed he actually wanted the child and was mainly going along with it because Mi Young was doing it, but she figured it's what was best for him. It can be attributed to neither of them actually knowing what to do so they kind of assumed that role of trying to please the other person. I also slightly think the doctor let them hear the heartbeat purposely so they'd change their minds.

Most of Daniel's scenes have been short and simply show him searching for his sister. I can say it broke my heart a little when the nurse he was talking to was disappointed he wasn't her long lost brother she'd been searching for. Now that we see he's close with Chairman Wang and he has already into Mi Young on separate occasions, his story will now intertwine with theirs and he will play a vital part in Mi Young's development. Now if he's only tell her he's not a priest lol
