The Third Hospital Episode 2 Recap
I know, I know. I'm late, but please forgive me. Last week was like hell and I was busy. So I'm here now and I'll get on to episode 2's recap.
We start off with Doo Hyun and Seung Hyun's standoff in Seung Hyun's office. Seung Hyun says he hasn't seen him in 10 yeas and he knew he'd react this way. Doo Hyun retorts that if he knows how he is then he shouldn't have done that. Angry Mom senses the tension and awkwardly wheels her son out. Seung Hyun calls in his next patient and tells Doo Hyun he'll catch up with him later. Doo Hyun says he's letting him off this time and leaves. A flashback shows their father, Dr. Kim Ha Yoon, talking to an older woman(possibly grandmother) saying that blood is thicker than water. Dad says that he's never once thought that Doo Hyun wasn't his since he added him and his mother to their family registry when he was 2. She then says that Ha Yoon needs to set an heir so there won't be any problems later. Young Doo Hyun is listening from outside the door. Back to the present, it still bothers him to this day. Back to the flashback, this time to a time when him and Seung Hyun playing in the woods as kids. They then get separated from each other and it begins to rain. Seung Hyun is calling out for Doo Hyun as the rain falls down then slips and hurts his leg. Doo Hyun eventually comes home alone and Dad demands to know what happened to Seung Hyun. Doo Hyun says they got separated and he couldn't find him so he thought he came home. Dad slaps Doo Hyun for coming home without his brother. Seung Hyun is still lost and yelling out for his brother and Dad starts looking for him. He's found and is now resting from Dad's care. Seung Hyun looks up and sees Doo Hyun, he calls him. Doo Hyun looks upset and says "Retard, why didn't you die?", Seung Hyun look surprised and asks why he's like that. Doo Hyun walks out the room and saying don't call him. We are shown that both brothers are thinking about this same incident, but obviously have two different views on the events.
Hye In is eating candy and looking at patient information standing at the nurse's station while a janitor is cleaning. The woman picks up a gold ball and gives it to Hye In thinking she's dropped it. Hye In sniffs it and nonchalantly says it's herbal medicine then remembers when Seung Hyun says he had dropped his medicine. She shakes it off saying it can't be and puts it in her pocket.
The nurses are scolded by a male nurse for not putting in an IV correctly and not checking on patients like they should. Hye In gets a call and puts the medicine back on the counter before leaving. She's still not convinced Seung Hyun has lost anything.
A little girl who has lost the ability to walk was taken out of the hospital by her mother due to the bill and her inability to pay it. The nurse tells her that the insurance won't cover it because she's not a Korean citizen. When Seung Hyun returns to the room, his nurse tells him what happened and he runs after them. The woman tells him it will take all of their money in a few visits, but Seung Hyun says that she should have asked him for help instead of just leaving. He takes off his coat and directs them to a bench. Hye In saw him walking out and follows, he sees her and tells her to come help. She's instructed to hold the girl's legs still, keep an eye on her feet and let him know when they become even. After a short while, they do become even and Hye In looks surprised. The mother thanks him and he instructs her to not let her daughter walk for 4 days then gives her a prescription for medicine to be picked up a clinic, he knows the doctor and she'll have help. She thanks him again and leaves.
During rounds, a resident is having trouble with acupuncture. Seung Hyun tells him to stop, remove the needles and says that his parents must have named him 'Big Rock'(Tae Suk) for a reason. The Western doctors come in for their rounds and you can see the tension.
Hye In gets scolded by her superior and all the residents are punished. Seung Hee is upset because she's never been in trouble and Hye In can't believe it. Another resident later says that it's probably due to her using her body to get what she wants. He says she was really popular in college. Hye In is frustrated because Doo Hyun is always on her. She says she wants to gauge his eyes out and he hears it.
Later, Hye In finds Seung Hyun to return his medicine and he's having coffee with Dr. Min Joo An who insists she sit down with them. In the process of Joo An trying to get her to sit down, the medicine falls and she covers it with her foot, but Seung Hyun sees it. He's upset because this medicine is the future..of something we're not sure of just yet. Now Hye In is avoiding Seung Hyun, but fails when she's waiting for an elevator. He catches up to her and calls her a sexual assaulter and she scoffs at being called that, but he reminds her that she called him a pervert. He tells her to post a 'Letter of Reflection' on the hospital message board by midnight. She does post it, but it's not what he expected.
Back in her dorm, Hye In "washes" her hair with cleaner that's used on patients and then sprays herself with another cleaner and declares her face washed. Seung Hee looks horrified at Hye In's lack of cleaning.
The car accident's patient's wife is feeding him, but he refuses to eat anything. She gets a call from her professor and says she can't become an assistant and she may have to quit school. Hearing this, her husband slides his food off the table and kicks the table. She tells the professor that her husband isn't doing so well and she hangs up. The husband is upset and his wife is crying. Seung Hyun walks out with his team, not wanting to get involved until he thinks back to his mom saying he has a young son he needs to take care of. He then turns around and starts administering acupuncture. Hye In sees and tries to stop it, but he says he needs just 10 minutes and he'll remove them. She leaves to tell Doo Hyun, but he's in no mood to hear it and walks away saying she can talk to him later. Even when Seung Hyun is coming out of that same room, Doo Hyun doesn't catch him. As he's walking down the hall, the nurses call Seung Hyun a pervert and say even his smile is gross.
Dr. Kim Ha Yoon arrives and speaks with Dr. Yang Han Kyu. Ha Yoon, Han Kyu, and Doo Hyun are all walking in the lobby when they come face to face with Seung Hyun. Ha Yoon looks surprised/confused while Doo Hyun looks unhappy.
