My Favorite Rookies - Girl Groups

Yes, this is a blog for dramas but I was watching a video earlier and decided to do a post on my favorite kpop rookies. These aren't my all time favorites, but newbies who caught my attention.

Ace of Angels

Ace of Angels(AOA) is an 8 member idol-band group from FNC Entertainment, same label as FT Island and Juniel. The members are Choa, Mina, Yuna, Youkyoung, Jimin, Hyejeong, Seolhyun, and Chanmi with Jimin being the leader. AOA is divided into 2 sub-units: AOA White which is the dance unit that has 7 members(everyone except Youkyoung) and AOA Black which is the band unit that has 5 members; Jimin, Choa, Mina, Youkyoung, and Yuna. They debuted on July 30, 2012 with the song "Elvis" from the single album Angels' Story then came back in October with "Get Out" from their single Wannabe. During their "Get Out" promotions, AOA alternated weekly promotions between AOA Black and AOA White. Their fanclub name is ELVIS

SKarf or Singaporeans and Koreans are Friends is a 5 member group from Alpha Entertainment. Members are Tasha(Singaporean), Ferlyn(Singaporean), Jenny(Korean), JooA(Korean), and Hana(Japanese) with Tasha being the leader and Jenny the maknae. They debuted August 14, 2012 with "Oh! Dance", originally they had 4 members but main vocals Sol left early this year to pursue musical acting, she was replaced with Korean JooA and Japanese Hana. They recently made a comeback with "Luv Virus".

Luv Virus

15&

15& is a duo from JYPE, consisting of K-Pop Star Winner Park Jimin and JYPE trainee Baek Yerin. Being the winner of K-Pop Star guaranteed Jimin a solo debut, but she chose to debut as a duo with Yerin. They debuted on October 5, 2012 with the ballad "I Dream" and had their comeback April 7, 2013 with "Somebody".

Ladies' Code

Ladies' Code is a 5 member girl group from Polaris, home to Kim Bum Soo and Ivy. Members are Sojung, RiSe, Ashley, EunB, and Zuny with Ashley as leader and Zuny as maknae. RiSe is known as a contestant from Miss Korea pageant as a representative from Japan, Birth of a Great Star, and as a couple with David Oh from We Got Married. Sojung was a finalist on The Voice Korea, EunB is related to news reporter Lee Sung Joon while Ashley gained recognition on YouTube with her covers on her channel ashleych0i. They debuted on March 7, 2013 with "Bad Girl" from their mini album Code#1.

Crayon Pop

Crayon Pop is a 5 member group from Chrome Entertainment. Members are Ellin, Gum Mi, So Yul, Cho A, and Way. They become a 6 member group in Japan with member Arisa. They originally promoted in Japan before releasing Japanese and Korean versions of "Bing Bing", but officially debuted in Korea on July 19, 2012 with their 2nd single "Saturday Night" which also has a Japanese version. Crayon Pop released "Dancing Queen" in October and recently had their comeback with "Bar Bar Bar".

GLAM

GLAM is a 4 member group from Big Hit Entertainment. Members are Zinni, Dahee, Ji Yeon, and Miso. There were 5 members, but Trinity left the group before their first comeback. They debuted on July 16, 2012 with "Party XXO" and released a song for the drama Five Fingers in October. They made their first comeback on January 2 with "I Like That" and released another single in March titled "In Front of the Mirror".

I do have other rookies I enjoy listening to, but I actually follow these girl groups. I know many more have debuted within the past year, I honestly can't name half of them. What are your favorite rookie girl groups?
