Why You Should Start Watching Dating Agency: Cyrano

In a drama slump or you're just looking to add to your current lineup? Then look no further, I have the perfect drama for you! Okay the sales pitch isn't working? Didn't think it would, let me just explain why it's such a good drama so far. First things first: The synopsis:

This drama is about a dating agency that orchestrates romantic scenarios for paying clients, all in an effort to raise enough money to save an old theater.

This drama has a few seasoned actors and some newbies, but everyone's chemistry is amazing. We have Lee Jong Hyuk(A Gentleman's Dignity) who plays the main lead, Seo Byung Hoon who is a former theater producer and heads the Cyrano Dating Agency. Choi Sooyoung(Girls' Generation, Third Hospital) plays the hopeless romantic ans sole female member of the agency, Gong Min Young. Hong Jong Hyun(Jeon Woo Chi) plays the silent Moo Jin, who is the brains behind the agency's technology and Jo Yoon Woo(Flower Boy Ramyun Shop) who plays the adorable high school student/Cyrano Agent, Ah Rang. That's just the agency, we also have our second male lead in Lee Chun Hee(Like A Fairytale, One Thousandth Man), who plays the mysterious restaurant owner Cha Seung Pyo or as he tells Min Young to call him; Master. If this awesome cast isn't enough to sway you then take a look at the cameos that have appeared: Ji Jin Hee, Lee Chung Ah, Taemin, Im Hyung Joon, Lee Yoon Ji, Yoon Seo then next week we will have Lee Kwang Soo and Goo Eun Ae.

Why am I writing about this only 4 episodes in? Well because I am totally biased and I have no shame in that. Yes, I am biased towards a great story, good actors, and great chemistry. Ha! You thought I was going to name someone from the cast didn't you? I am a huge Girls' Generation fan, but even one of them couldn't make me love a drama. I'd talk about that, but not looking to become angry over a terrible script. Back to the subject. This drama has it all so far and I love how the seasoned actors don't overshadow the rookies. Sooyoung may be an idol and this is her first main lead role, you can't tell. Even in scenes with Lee Yoon Ji, she holds her own and isn't easily overshadowed. Jo Yoon Woo and Hong Jong Hyun also have great chemistry with each other and Boss Man Lee Jong Hyuk. The characters are written nicely and we didn't get an in-your-face introduction to Ah Rang's life either. I know some were worried about the 16-year age difference between Jong Hyuk and Sooyoung, but it's not very obvious while watching these two on screen. Their chemistry, even when their characters are bickering is just amazing. So don't let that part keep you from watching.

We are introduced to the very mysterious Master who seems to have taken an interest in Min Young while silently stalking her and Byung Hoon, that part creeps me out though. The mystery with him is very well written and so far we are guessing as to what his motives may be. There will be an obvious love triangle, but not really sure if he likes her or is just using her. Master is a very hard person to read. Speaking of love lines, without giving too much away, the Cyrano boys also get love lines and it's not pointless at all. They contribute to the story line and make sense so far. Ah Rang's is very interesting while we're seeing the subtle changes with Moo Jin who likes to silently watch things. It's kinda cute how he will smile when he sees Byung Hoon and Min Young bickering back and forth. Oh, I almost forgot to mention. Min Young isn't a weak heroine, but she's strong and stands up for herself. Hard to believe huh? When she gets fired for going rogue, she says she'll leave when she's good and ready. Take that stereotypical female leads. Writers take note, we like strong willed leads in females. No more doormats, I've had enough of them. Which is why I loved All About My Romance so much, Noh Min Young(Lee Min Jung) was strong and never backed down. Which is why it's going to be even better when we see Byung Hoon and Min Young finally get together, let's hope his first love doesn't stay long.

I won't go on any further by ranting, but wanted to say that you won't regret starting this show. If all you're watching is depressing melos then this will balance your genres out.
