Series Review: Looking Forward To Romance
I was originally planning to recap both episodes, but figured I'd do better if I just gave an overall review of the show.
Starring BoA, Daniel Choi, Kim Ji Won, and ZE:A's Siwan, Looking Forward To Romance is a 2 episode drama special about a love story between 4 young men and women.
We know Daniel Choi is a good actor and it showed, but this was BoA's first drama. Since it was only a drama special and her first time, I'm not going to be really hard on her. She did good and shouldn't be scrutinized for her anything. On to my review...

There's not much to really complain about. I actually enjoyed the story and kept forgetting that I was only watching a 2 episode drama special. That's how much it got my attention. Daniel Choi plays Cha Ki Dae, an out of work dentist who takes a job as a love guru for his friend Philip(Oh Jung Se), who is a love counselor. Basically he's in charge of a phone that is linked to this love app and many young people use it to ask for advice. This is where Joo Yeon Ae(BoA) comes in, she has everything: popularity, a good personality, very pretty, but she's not very good in the love department. Her last relationship ended with her being nicknamed "Octopus Girl". With Ki Dae's help, Yeon Ae is able to successfully start a relationship with Jung Jin Kook(Siwan) though she thinks she's getting help from Philip. Even though Ki Dae is very helpful with Yeon Ae's relationship, he's somehow having issues within his own relationship with Choi Sae Rom(Kim Ji Won).
Overall, I think it's a cute story. It starts off as something that shows you what not to do when starting a relationship, but at the end it ends up telling us that not everything is as great as it seems. Looking at Ki Dae and Sae Rom's relationship, we can clearly see what is wrong within their overall dynamic. Love can be blind especially when everyone is telling you what a cute pair you make which is exactly what happened with Ki Dae. Messaging Yeon Ae so much almost helped him see what was wrong with him and Sae Rom, while I don't agree with how he had invested so much emotionally with her I can see why he started to feel differently.

In the end, Ki Dae finally realized what he was suppose to do with his relationship with Sae Rom and I was honestly waiting for it to happen. I saw everything that was wrong with it and it was very obvious he was going through the motions after a while. Yeon Ae didn't need fixing when it came to her relationships, she just needed to find someone who could handle her and how she is. Jin Kook was just that person and he truly fought for her, which I loved.
Do I recommend Looking Forward To Romance? Yes, I do. It's only 2 episodes long and it would be worth it. I do wish it was longer, but I am satisfied with what we got.
Bonus! Look who had a cameo!
