T-Drama Review: When I See You Again Episode 3

This week was all about tricking Jiang Hai Kuo and getting closer in the process..oh we also got some flashbacks that gave a deeper glimpse into their past. Still not closer to figuring out what caused An Xi to snap at You Qian, but I hope it's coming up soon.

I thought we were through with the Jiang Hai Kuo arc since I originally assumed we took care of that part of the synopsis, but I'm guessing no. He really does seem to care about her since she was the first person to ever stand up for him, it seems he feels indebted to her for that moment years ago. He's confusing gratefulness with love and is not realizing this is not how you get a woman to marry you. He doesn't truly love An Xi like he believes, he's just grateful to her. But I also see this as a plot setup for our leads to get closer. With You Qian helping An Xi out, it gives them plenty of excuses to be alone - and time for feelings to develop...on An Xi's end anyways (we know You Qian's feelings are still there).

The home An Xi has been cleaning is obviously You Qian's former home, this makes it all the more apparent that she has never forgotten about him all these years later. I doubt she knew his real name, she called him "Uni-brow", so it's no suprise that she hasn't been able to recognize him yet, she just seems to be impressed that he knows Pu Lang Village's home remedies and secrets so I hope she is told who he is soon. Will she be mad? Perhaps especially if she really does miss him and to be tricked in that way would cause her to not trust him. We know it'll happen once she falls for him, this is a drama after all.

Episode 3 didn't really dive into any side stories like episode 2 and we mainly got OTP scenes, which is good since it shows us how they communicate and gets us to root for them as a couple. As most rom com couples, they bicker a lot, but their teamwork is quite amazing when it does happen. What I am enjoying is how we're getting bits and pieces of their past with each episode, whatever caused him to misunderstand her should be revealed soon. He says she hurt him so I'm curious to see what really happened because now it's only from his view, we're not given An Xi's perspective on anything since she doesn't even know who he is. This is why I want her to find out soon because we're only guessing things from her side, we need to understand her views to fully grasp how she may have nearly cost him his life. Once we know this piece of the puzzle then I believe the story will begin to move more so for now we're still in the introduction and setup stages.
Episode 4 has aired and should be fully subbed within the next few hours so I'll be back with my (hopefully better) review.
