Episode 10
We begin with Chae Won walking into the restaurant to see a drunken Young Ja eating her cake with her fingers whining about how she had no luck with her husband so why should her children be any different. She's shocked to see her standing there because Chul Gyu said she was sick. Chae Won says that what kind of daughter-in-law would be absent from her mother-in-law's birthday. Young Ja is saying that she's taken all sorts of pills like sleeping pills, anxiety pills, and others because the sight of her makes her ill. Chae Won bends down closer and says "Then I should admit you into the hospital too, Mother"(Haha), Young Ja looks up at her in shock and Chae Won asks if she should escort her there(Boom!).
Young Ja can barely get the words out, but eventually asks if she got her memory back and Chae Won says yes unfortunately. Had everything gone her way, then she would have been kicked out with knowing anything. Young Ja says that she's disappointed then Chae Won says that she is right, she's a daughter-in-law who only knows how to disappoint. But she wants to know why she did it, why she went that far. Still drunk, she explains that she did have to go that far. She had to divorce Chae Won and Chul Gyu, but she stayed. Had she made a mistake then her son's position as CEO would have been ruined. Her money is more important than life. Then she asks Chae Won would she have set still if she were her. Through tears, Chae Won asks how she could send a sane person to the mental hospital then she's given the answer about how: Young Ja was able to obtain her medical records due largely to her depression and getting her in wasn't that hard. Chae Won asks did she not think that she was scared because she didn't know anything, but Young Ja says that she only thought of it as a punishment for her trying to reach an unreachable position. Then she asks her mother-in-law if she didn't think she was pitiful. She calls her unlucky and pitiful since she lost her mother at a young age and was raised by her father. She should have gone to a family with a loving mother-in-law, but instead was given her. Her background is plain(aka She's not rich) and she just came with a pretty face, so she's not of any help to her son. She says it's because of the business side of her that she doesn't do anything that won't benefit her, so she won't be beneficiary to her son. In fact, she's holding him back. Chae Won says she's a scary person and Young Ja says that she can't be scared of anything for her children's sake. She puts it simply: If anyone blocks any of her children's way, she will remove them. Chae Won is that one blocking Chu Gyu. Then she passes out. Chae Won brings her home and says that since she felt much better, she decided to visit, but found her passed out. Chul Gyu says that this is the kind of person she is. She instructs her husband to put his mother to bed since she's drunk. Young Ja saying that she doesn't need any of her children.
Back at the bar where previously JuRi confessed her feelings to Se Yoon. He tells her that he understands her feelings, bu he's not ready to open up his heart yet. JuRi makes the mistake of saying this: Don't you think 3 years is enough?(More on why that line was a mistake later, after she makes more of them in this episode. You know she will...), she asks how long is he going to hold onto Eun Seol. She says that if it takes 10 or 20 years, she'll wait for him(It's that serious?). He tries to stop her, but she continues: When him and Eun Seol had their 100 day or 1 year anniversary even the day he proposed to her, she was always there. She says that even though it was hard to see him happy with another woman(Who also happen to be her best friend), she was also thankful she got to see his face. She asks him does he know how hard it was for her. She couldn't confess her feelings because then it would be even harder to watch him from afar(Or maybe it's because he was dating your best friend, that's why you never said anything). She starts crying and he wipes her tears for her. Still, he can't accept her heart because there's no room in there for anyone else. Then she says how long will be hold onto her, for the rest of his life and never love again. He says over time then maybe he'll love again, but he's not ready just yet. She asks him to promise her the moment he decides to love again, to tell her. She wants him to give her a chance. Please? We don't see his answer.
Okay, she's coming off a little too desperate. The man lost his fiance 3 years ago and left the country to get over it, it's that easy to do when he was so much in love with her. JuRi, NEVER say isn't 3 years too long and how long is he planning to hold onto her. His parents can ask that, but not you. First you fake being drunk then you tell him that he should be over her by now. This is not hoe to get him, you're pushing him further away. Rant over.
Then we see Seol Ju laying in bad..again...does being fussed at by people really stress her out? Dong-kyu asks if Director Uhm's wife came by because he wasn't promoted. She says no. Se Yoon comes in when he hears she's not feeling well. She sits up and says that she feels better now that her handsome men are both next to her. Dong-kyu laughs saying that she finally called him handsome because their son was there. She gets up to go to the bathroom, but her phone rings when she's out. Her husband tells her it's ringing and answers it. It's Choon Hee and he remembers her, calling her the pretty sister. He asks how she's doing since he heard she was back in Korea and she says yes. Seol Ju returns and asks who it is, he tells her it's Choon Hee. She abruptly takes the phone and goes to the other room leaving Dong-kyu and SeYoon confused. She asks Choon Hee why she's calling so late and she says that she wants to spend some time together on Sunday. Seol Ju makes up an excuse saying she has a meeting that day so she can't. Then Choon Hee mentions how her brother-in-law's voice hasn't changed and she would like to see him, Seol Ju says that when he has time then they'll meet. She says good night and hangs up. Dong-kyu comes out and says that he wanted to speak to her longer, why did she walk out of the room like that. He says that he wanted to see how she was doing. SeYoon didn't know his mother had a sister and his dad says that they were very close, she even called him brother-in-law. Now SeYoon wants to meet his mom's sister. She mutters yes.
Choon Hee is in her room after talking to Seol Ju. She comments on how lucky she is to have a wealthy and caring husband. Then she looks at her broken heel and thinks about when HyoDog lied about him being married. She wonders why he would lie like that. While HyoDong is standing outside her cafe wondering where he went wrong. They ate lunch together and he even carried her, why did she have such a change of heart so quick. He runs into Kang Jin and continues to ask him about his relationship with Choon Hee. Kang Jin says that they're just neighbors and that's it. Then he plays the joke again and pretends that Kkeut Soon is coming, he laughs telling him that he fell for it again.
Young Ja wakes up and goes to the kitchen to find Chae Won who's making honey water to help her feel better. She hands her the glass and asks her to drink it, but Young Ja is paranoid and thinks she may have poisoned it. She asks if she's trying to get revenge for what she's done, but Chae Won says that nothing will be compared to what she's been through. She asks if that's her plan, to get back at her for everything. Young Ja is obviously on to her and accuses her of staying there to get back at her. Chae Won looks around and appears upset, but sees Chul Gyu and again asks her to drink the water.
She slams the glass down and says to remove it from her sight. He comes over to see what the problem is now and she says that she doesn't know if Chae Won poisoned it. He asks if she's still sick from the alcohol and yells that she's fine. She spills the beans and says that Chae Won has her memories back. He looks at her and asks if it's true, she said suddenly she remembered everything. Now she's trying to poison her because she holds a grudge. He doesn't believe her, but she says she saw it(Lol You saw nothing). He takes the glass while she's trying to stop him and drinks the water, he says it's just honey and she's imagining things. Chul Gyu turns and says he's sorry in so many ways. Chae Won says she thinks her mother-in-law's mind is more vicious, she's just trying to understand her. In their room, he gets on his knees and says he deserves to die for everything he did. He says when she was in the hospital, he didn't relax. She asks him again, did he know about her getting sent to the hospital. She wants him to speak truthfully, did he know about it or was it just his mother's doing. He says no and only found out when she had returned. He wanted her to bring her back, but his mother wouldn't listen. He grabs her hand and says he's born again and asks for a second chance. He'll go from being a mama's boy to a great family leader, so can she trust him this time. She nods yes and he hugs her, he says he'll do better. He's sure that his mom has learned from this as well. She asks him if his mother is being too sensitive She starts talking about the hospital, but stops. He says she's right now that he's thinking about the incident with the honey water. Now he's thinking about where she needs to be consulted at a hospital.
Ki Choon, Kang Sook, and Bo Reum are busy packing their belongings to move in with the in-laws. They look back up and their house and reminisce about when they first bought it. They took out loans when they first got married, but were so happy when they first got it that they didn't sleep the first night. He says that they were so happy they sat on the front steps crying as they were passing out rice cakes. She gets teary eyed remembering that day. He states that the second fancy part of their lives will start so they should unite as one if they're going to get the inheritance. While they're happy, DoHee is crying on the floor of their now-old home. Ki Moon asks what's wrong and she says that thinking about cramming the expensive furniture and Italian dishes in a container makes her sad. She asks him does he know how long it took her to get those 'babies'? He reminds her it's only temporary because everything couldn't fit. She gets up and tells him he has to get the inheritance no matter what so she could get her stuff back. He looks annoyed, but says okay.(Rant time: What did Ki Moon see in Do Hee when he married her? He's completely opposite from her when it comes to money and materialistic things. Unless that's what he thought he wanted until he married her. I wouldn't be shocked if they divorced given her actions. Rant over.) Both families arrive at their new homes at the same time. Ki Choon sticks his head out the window saying that they were there first and to backup. Do Hee doesn't like this and tells Ki Moon to tell him no, he tells his brother that they're order so hyung is going first. Both trucks go in at the same time again and honk at one another. The both get their drivers to keep going in, determined to be the first ones to be in there. Ki Ok just walks through both trucks with her bags and greets her siblings and in-laws while smiling. Both of them look at her in disbelief. So everyone jumps out and runs towards the door. Inside, they all gather around the table. Pyong Dal thanks everyone who came, it was brave of them. He knows that all of them aren't interested in the factory, but maybe in the end they will be.
He then gives the qualifications to receive the inheritance: 1) Someone who loves noodles, 2) Someone who makes good noodles, 3) Someone who sells noodles well. He says that's it and gets up. Ki Choon asks about work ans Ki Moon says he quit and it will be settled that week. HyoDong asks how he could quit such a successful company and Do Hee speaks up saying that's how committed they are, even their son Seol Hong is coming. Ki Ok can't believe he's coming and Do Hee says of course. He wants to help as well.
Chul Gyu comes to visit his mom at her office and says she has a headache because of "that thing". He tells her to get up so they can go on a date. She doesn't want to, but he begs her to have a date with him since it's been a while. She asks where it will be, he says they'll have dinner and go shopping. She says that since he's being nice to her then he's her son again and is happy that she's getting a date with her son. They arrive at their destination and he tells her she'll know when they get inside. She's all giddy like a teenage girl who has her first boyfriend. They walk in a room and she sees Chae Won there. He says that they came at her recommendation to seek psychological counseling. Chae Won 'encourages' her by saying she's gotten counseling her before. Young Ja says who is she to make a sane person into a patient(Doesn't feel good does it?). Chul Gyu says that's not it, they just want her to be comfortable, but she's not buying it. She says she's trying to treat her the same way, but she's not easily manipulated and walks out. He chases his mother out of the building and grabs her in the parking lot. She asks him how could he make his mother into a psychological patient and he says that's not it. He asks Chae Won to take a taxi home since his mother is upset and distraught, she says okay since he has to reassure her.
Hyo Dong is walking along a bridge when someone keeps preventing him from walking, he looks up and it's Choon Hee. He smiles at her. She asks him why he lied about having a wife, she met his sister-in-law. She asks him if it's because he thinks she might be all over him, he was scared that she might seduce him. He stutters, but she keeps talking saying that she doesn't chase men who have no interest in her. He says it's exactly the opposite of what she thinks. He fell for her the moment he saw her and was scared so he lied about having a wife. He says since his wife died 30 years ago, Choon Hee is the first person who has made him feel this way. He thinks he's in love. He kisses her, but she pulls away and slaps him. She thinks he's trying to play her because she sells alcohol in a cafe. He tells her she has it misunderstood, but she doesn't believe him. She thought he was different, but all men are the same. He tries to stop her, but she kicks him in the shin. Ki Ok is walking with Kang Jin when she asks if Choon Hee is his girlfriend, but he says no. She says they look cute together and he says she's playing hard to get. It's cute when young women do it, but it pisses him off when older women do that.(Dude, it's far from playing hard to get) They run into Choon Hee walking very fast away from Hyo Dong, Kang Jin already knows the situation. She walks away and he goes to coffee with Hyo Dong leaving Ki Ok behind.
While they're drinking coffee, Kang Jin knows that Hyo Dong kissed her before he heard her answer. Sneaky Kang Jin tells him that Choon Hee's affection towards him was all for her business and she doesn't have any feelings for him.
Young Ja has isn't feeling good so Chae Won brings her some porridge. She compliments Chae Won on hiding her true self and acting as if she knew nothing, but calls her toxic. Chae Won tells her to eat before it gets cold. She asks her what the reason is for sticking around, is it because of the divorce settlement money? The longer she stays, the more money she may get. She tells her that she's miscalculated the situation and pulls out the prenup she made her sign. She says that she's not allowed more than what's agreed to. Chae Won says she's planned a lot to which Young Ja compliments herself as saying she's meticulous. Chae Won says that she's planned a lot as well and pulls out the video of Young Ja drunk. She says that she's prepared something that will make an impact if it's shown to the public and is asked what she wants.
All Chae Won wants is for the prenup to be destroyed. She calls her cruel, but it's nothing compared to what she had to go through. Young Ja tells her to delete the video first and she rips up the prenup. Chae Won then deletes the video.
Chul Gyu and Chae Won are on their way to the store to buy things to bbq. He tells her that he'll pay for all the things he's done for the rest of his life. When inside, we see that SeYoon is at the same grocery store looking at his company's food on the shelves. Chul Gyu and Chae Won are deciding on whether or not to buy another BBQ grill. He sees them before they see him. Chul Gyu leaves her alone while he runs off to buy coal then SeYoon walks up to talk to her. He tells her why he's there. There's some awkwardness there and he says that he thought once she got her memory back then she'd leave and start over again, but it seems like she's forgiven her husband.
She thinks she looks like an idiot, but he says no. He had thought that she really loves her husband by the sight of them. He says that seeing her do well puts him at ease, she's trying to tell him something when she looks up and he's gone. Just then her husband returns with the coal. As they're walking away, she looks around for him. He watches them walk away with what looks like a heavy heart.
JuRi arrives at SeYoon's house, with the invite from his mother, with orchids. Seol Ju says they're her favorites, JuRi says she was hoping they'd have the same taste in flowers.
At the now bigger Uhm household. Bo Reum is dancing and singing for his grandparents when Do Hee comes downstairs, she asks to speak with Kang Sook. She asks why Kang Sook is using her child to gain points from their in-laws and that they should fight fair and square without the help of children. Kang Sook says it's unfair to say no when a child wants to entertain his grandparents. DoHee says that the timing isn't right, but is told by Kang Sook that she's being too transparent. She mentions Do Hee's "sickness" whenever she comes near the family, but Do Hee mentions when she only gave $500 claiming she could care less about the factory. Ki Choon is walking around the factory and tells himself to close his eyes and be dead for a year. Ki Moon comes in and mentions his brother's trauma to noodles and Ki Choon says that truamas and meant to be defeated and asks how is he going to do anything from using a pen for so long. Ki Moon says that after years of running away from the burden of being the eldest to take care of the family business, it's that's dragged him back here. Ki Choon laughs saying that his acting has improved.
Chul Gyu and Chae Won arrive at her family's home. Hyo Dong is walking up when he sees her, he asks what brings her there without calling and she hugs him. Chul Gyu says that she regained her memory. He tests her memory by asking about the factory, he's happy and it's great to see him finally be happy about something. Chul Gyu is sitting around with Chae Won's dad and uncles wondering what the occasion was. Chae Won finds out from her grandmother and like everyone else, can't believe it. They tell her that whoever inherits the factory gets $10 million, so it's an all out war between them. She looks at Kkeut Soon who's face says she's not in that. Hyo Dong talks to her in private and reveals he's still worried about her since he heard she has signed divorce papers before. She says it's alright and they'll be fine. She hugs him to reassure that everything will be fine.
Se Yoon comes home to be greeted by his mother and JuRi in an apron. He asks what she's doing and she says that she was invited by his mother, Seol Ju tells him that she insisted on helping with dinner.
He goes to get changed and JuRi follows, offering to hang his jacket up but he just throws it on the bed. He asks what does she think she's doing at his house without telling him, she says she wants him to give her a chance. He tells her to leave him alone. She apologizes and says she didn't think he'd have a problem with it and walks out of his room. She's crying as she's heading downstairs crying, she says sorry to his mother and leaves out. SeYoon is sitting on his bed when his mother walks in and sits in front of him. She asks him what he said to make JuRi cry and he asks to be left alone. She asks if something happened when he was out then he raises his voice saying if she keeps going he'll go back to America. He explains that JuRi is Eun Seol's friend and she's just his hoobae, he has no feelings for her. Seol Ju says that it's not that she wants anything to happen now, but since she was a close friend of his she wanted her to come for a visit(That may be your reason, but it sure wasn't JuRi's reason to be over there). She apologizes for being wrong, but he still wants to be left alone so she leaves out.
Young Ja was given some mail from a Realtor and opens it to find brochures from Portugal and gets upset, then Chul Gyu and Chae Won return home. She throws the papers and booklets at him then turns to Chae Won and says that she's luring her son to emigrate, she's finally stealing her son. She says sorry. He tells her not to be sorry and says he's the one who's trying to convince her to emigrate. Young Ja asks if he's really her son and how can he do this to her. Does she know how she raised him and he's being controlled by his wife and throwing her out like an old pair of shoes. He tells her that it's the best solution in the situation while she still thinks she's being abandoned.(Seriously, you act like he's your only child) He tells her she has JuRi, but she says that she's trying to marry her off as well. He says that's why she needs to treat Chae Won better. Yougn Ja then asks if that's what he wants, for her to be nice n order to live with him. Is she suppose to be subservient to his wife(Lady, your logic is just off). Is Chae Won really controlling her husband, Chul Gyu yells at her to stop saying those things to her. Chae Won softly says to stop yelling at mother-in-law and Young Ja starts whining.
The next day Young Ja calls for Chae Won to her office. She starts talking about how she had a difficult life so that's why she leads one now. She says that from selling things door to door to doing construction, she's worked hard to make sure she took care of her kids. That's why Chul Gyu isn't just her son, he's her life and everything. She gets to the point in all of this: She can't live without him so stop thinking about emigrating and wasting money. Let's take care of this quietly at home. She tells Chae Won that she's still young and can start life over again if she puts things behind her. She pulls out an envelop, sets it on the table, and says with that much she won't feel bad. Chae Won looks inside, but sets it back down saying that it won't do. Young Ja raises her voice saying does she think she's worth that much after just 3 years, how much does she want. Chae Won says half of the company's share and Young Ja says is she crazy.
Then Chae Won says she doesn't want money. She explains after having a mother in-law that no one could imagine, being put into a mental hospital and framed as an adulteress she began to think about what will make her MIL distressed....stealing Chul Gyu is that one thing. She announces she's not leaving her husband and no amount of money will make her do it. Even if she dies, she won't leave his side. Not one single step. End.

JuRi=Stalker. You said what you feel now just accept that he doesn't feel the same. She says that 3 years is enough time, but what about her? She's been pining over him for like 5 years now. Take your own advice and stop holding onto him.
Seol Ju's husband already knows who Choon Hee is, so why is she trying to hide her for? Is she Se Yoon's real mom? *Pure speculation*
